Le Sirenuse Hotel Positano

Le Sirenuse is an 18th Century palazzo, originally the summer home of a noble Neapolitan family, the Marchesi Sersale. In 1951, it was converted into the small luxury hotel it is today.
With the sea straight ahead, the village of baroque houses climbing the hill to the right, and the tiled dome of the Mother Church almost close enough to be touched, the view from the hotel's terraces is breathtaking. Out on the horizon lies the sinuous profile of the Islands of the Sirens. The pool terrace is the largest of all. During the summer months it also hosts a bar and the restaurant tables. Lemon trees in large pots are lined up along the swimming pool edge.
At the restaurant, bougainvilleas cover the arches of the vaulted dining room ceiling. Lemon trees divide the tables. The flickering lights of the village come in from the large windows and blend with all the candles illuminating the inside. Soft mandolin music is played in the background.
